PR agency in Gothenburg

We help companies and organizations gain coverage in media outlets that matter to them. Since the early 2000s, we have been working from here, with contacts in newsrooms that have taken years to build.

Close to the editorial offices

Welcom is a PR agency in Gothenburg. We have worked with communication here long enough to know who writes about what. It shows when a piece of news needs to find the right journalist on the first try. Just as important is speaking up when an idea doesn't hold up, before it has cost a contact.

What we do for you

First, we find the news in what you are already doing. Then, we formulate it so that an editorial team can use it immediately. We write press releases, pitches, and opinion pieces ourselves, and we prepare the person who will speak ahead of an interview. We also create content for websites and social media. The question is always the same: why should anyone care?

Experience we bring with us

We have experience collaborating with clients such as Liseberg, Gröna Lund, and Göteborg Energi. We have applied the same approach to B2B companies, tech firms, and public sector organizations. You speak directly with the person doing the work, not a project manager who just passes it along.

When things get intense

A bad day in the media rarely comes with a warning. When it happens, it is an advantage if the agency already knows you and is located in the same city. Crisis management and media training are handled by the same team that does the PR work, so you do not need to repeat your story to someone new.

FAQs about PR

How does working with Welcom start?

With a conversation about where you are today. After that we tell you what is needed, and sometimes it is less than you think.

We talk about what you have tried and what is not working. Show us what you have already made, however rough it is. It tells us more than a brief.

Then you get a recommendation: a first step, how long it takes and what it costs. If you decide to do the work yourselves, the recommendation is yours to use.

How quickly can we get media coverage?

It depends on the news. A story that is already hot can run the same week. Becoming a source that newsrooms come back to takes longer.

Editors decide what they publish. We take care of the craft: the angle, the choice of journalist and the timing. It rests on relationships we have built over more than 20 years.

We never promise coverage. We promise that the material is well prepared and reaches the right person. If something does not land, you will know why.

Do you work on an ongoing basis or on one-off announcements?

Both, but most of the value is built over time. Media presence is a relationship, not a campaign.

A one-off announcement works when you have something concrete to say, such as a report, a launch or a decision. Then we put together the angle, the material and the media list, and go.

Ongoing work looks different. We follow your agenda, find moments where you have something to add and keep in touch with journalists between announcements. That is where most of the coverage comes from.

Does PR also help you show up in AI answers?

Yes. AI tools rely on credible sources, and coverage in established media is exactly what PR produces.

Language models care a lot about where something is said. An article in an established publication counts for more than what you write on your own site, for the same reason a journalist would rather call an independent expert.

That is why PR and visibility in AI search now go together. We track how you are mentioned in AI answers and show the change over time, so the work can be evaluated.

How much does it cost to hire a PR agency?

It mostly depends on whether you need a one-off announcement or an ongoing media presence. After a first call, you get a fixed price or a price cap, so you know the cost before anything starts.

A one-off announcement is priced as a package. Ongoing work is broken down, so you see what each piece costs.

No two PR assignments look the same. That is why we set the price once we know what needs to be done.

Does our PR agency need to be based in Gothenburg?

No, but it helps when the story is local. An agency on the ground knows which newsrooms cover West Sweden and who there writes about what.

We can also be in the same room when it matters, for example before an interview or on a difficult day.

For national media, the address matters less. There the story and the relationship with the journalist count for more. From Gothenburg we work with partners across Sweden, Finland and Norway.
